2015 Extreme Menu Items Unveiled!
(AKRON, OHIO) March 31, 2015 - The Akron RubberDucks unveiled its new Extreme Menu items for the 2015 season at a special tasting at Canal Park today. The three new items added are the "Not Your Routine Poutine," "The Don Corleone Sub," and the "Grand Slam Walk-Off Wedge."
"Not only are the new items 'extreme,' but they are unique and have a wide array of flavors that our fans are sure to enjoy," said RubberDucks Director of Food and Beverage Brian Manning.
Two other additions were announced. First introduced was the new "Jobu's Craft Brews" window and menu. Jobu's Craft Brews will be located on the concourse behind home plate and will debut on Opening Night, Thursday, April 9 at 6:35 p.m. The other new introduction was the "Duck Wings," which will be exclusive to the Dave Walter BMW/VW Duck Row seats in front of the Fowl Territory picnic area near left field.
"Craft beer popularity is increasing across the country and we felt it was time we met our fans' preferences," said Manning. "This new window really accentuates our Canal Park beer options and we can't wait for Opening Day for our fans to get a taste!"
Also available at today's tasting was the recently-announced White Castle cheeseburger Original Sliders, which will be available at The Dog Pound concession stand. On the D.G. Yuengling Brewery-sponsored "Thirsty Thursdays," the sliders will be available via in-seat vending. Two cheeseburger sliders will sell for $4.
New 2015 Extreme Menu Items:
NOT YOUR ROUTINE POUTINE (Available at Taters for $10.00)
- A stacked 12-ounce pile of french fries topped with gravy, cheese curds, BBQ pulled pork, bacon bits & green onion.
THE DON CORLEONE SUB (Available at Godfather's Kitchen for $20.00)
- An 8-inch long, and nearly 6-inch wide Italian sub layered with generous portions of ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce & tomato. This sub is then finished off with delicious balsamic onions & signature pepper relish.
GRAND SLAM WALK-OFF WEDGE (Available at Bier Garten for $18.00)
- A full head of iceberg lettuce chopped up, served in a full-size baseball helmet and topped with homemade pretzel croutons, cherry tomatoes, crumbled blue cheese, sunflower seeds, and served with a honey mustard dressing.
New at Canal Park in 2015:
JOBU's CRAFT BREWS
- The new craft brew window located on the concourse behind home plate includes more than 24 brews from all over America, including seasonal selections. Beers in the "Crafty" category sell for $7 and "Xtra Crafty" beers sell for $9.50.
DUCK WINGS
- Duck wing drummettes tossed in a smoky honey chili sauce & served with a side of horseradish dipping sauce, sold for $9.00 at Dave Walter BMW/VW Duck Row only.
The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
