Knights Drop Tuesday's Game to Tides 9-3

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- First baseman Matt Skole launched two home runs, shortstop Juan Perez also homered, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their four-game series to the Norfolk Tides by a score of 9-3 on Tuesday from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte.

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- First baseman Matt Skole launched two home runs, shortstop Juan Perez also homered, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their four-game series to the Norfolk Tides by a score of 9-3 on Tuesday from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte.

Skole connected on his first home run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, his fourth of the season. Three innings later, Skole continued his hot-hitting and swatted his team-high fifth home run of the season. Both home runs were solo shots for Skole, who finished the night 3-for-3 with two runs scored, one double, two home runs, and two RBIs. Perez followed with a solo home run in the seventh inning, his third of the season.

LHP TJ House (1-6, 5.97) started the game for the Knights and allowed seven runs (one earned) on seven hits over two innings. House exited in the third inning after being hit by a line drive up the middle. He was charged with the loss. Four Charlotte relievers combined to hold the Tides to two runs over the final seven innings.

The Knights will continue their four-game series against the Tides on Wednesday from BB&T Ballpark. The team will host their first "White Sox Wednesday" game at BB&T Ballpark and the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Lucas Giolito No-Hitter Bobblehead. The Knights will wear their specialty "CLT" jerseys and RHP Michael Kopech is expected to start the game for Charlotte.

Pre-game radio coverage of Wednesday's 7:04 p.m. game will begin at 6:50 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and CharlotteKnights.com. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights radio broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.

KNIGHTS KNOTES: Center fielder Charlie Tilson had two hits on the night for the Knights… Before the game, the Knights announced a series of roster moves. RHP Carson Fulmer officially joined the active roster from the Chicago White Sox, while LHP Robbie Ross Jr. re-joined the Knights from Low-A Kannapolis. Additionally, catcher Kevan Smith was placed on the DL and catcher Brett Austin was activated off the DL. Austin is a Charlotte, NC native and a product of Providence High School… The Knights hosted their annual "Star Wars Knight" on Tuesday and the first 2,000 fans received a T-Shirt courtesy of Atrium Health.
