Nashville starter Daniel Gossett tossed six quality innings, while center fielder Dustin Fowler tallied three hits and catcher Josh Phegley drove in two runs to snap Omaha's three-game winning streak in the Sounds' 4-3 win in front of a season-high 7,855 fans at Werner Park on Monday afternoon.

Phegley clubbed the first of his two run-scoring knocks in the second frame to put Nashville on the board first, before coming plateward courtesy of LF Nick Martini 's two-bagger to left. Omaha immediately answered with a two-spot of their own in the bottom half of the second thanks to LF Logan Moon 's RBI single before the tying run came across on a double play.
The Sounds, however, countered right back in the third. 3B Sheldon Neuse slapped an RBI single to center before Phegley drove in his second run of the day via a base hit to center to increase the advantage to 4-2. Omaha pinch hitter Nick Dini cut that deficit to one with a single to left in the eighth, however the Storm Chasers were not able to tie the game from that point on.
Fowler (3-5, R) led all batters with his three knocks, while Neuse (2-4, R, RBI) and Phegley (2-4, R, 2B, 2 RBI) each tallied two hits as well. Omaha 1B Frank Schwindel (2-4, R) was the only batter from his side to tally a multi-hit effort.
Gossettt (6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) earned his first victory of the season, supported by the bullpen trio of Simon Castro (1.0 IP, H, BB, 2 K), Lou Trivino (1.0 IP, 2 H, R, ER, BB, 2 K) and Raúl Alcántara (1.0 IP, 2 K). Castro and Trivino received holds, while Alcantara notched his first save. Storm Chasers relievers Eric Stout (1.0 IP, H, BB), Josh Staumont (1.0 IP, BB, K), Wily Peralta (1.0 IP, K) and Richard Lovelady (1.0 IP, K) combined for four shutout frames to keep Omaha within striking distance. Omaha southpaw Jonathan Dziedzic (5.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 6 K) suffered the defeat to fall to 0-2.
After an off day on Tuesday, the Storm Chasers begin a nine-game road trip, starting with a five-game set in Colorado Springs. First pitch of the series opener on Wednesday, April 25 is set for 7:40 p.m. CT.
Omaha returns to Werner Park for an eight-game homestand on Friday, May 4. First pitch against the New Orleans Baby Cakes that evening is slated for 7:05 p.m. CT.
