LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Right-hander Kyle Wright one-hit the Louisville Bats over 7.0 innings on Monday as the Gwinnett Stripers won the opener of a three-game series 6-0 at Coolray Field.

The Stripers improved to an International League-best 12-5 in shutout decisions this season with their third shutout win in the last seven games.
Wright, the Atlanta Braves' No. 2 prospect according to MLB.com, delivered 7.0 scoreless innings in just his third Triple-A start. The 22-year-old fanned eight Bats while walking one in a dominating effort.
After walking D.J. Peterson with one out in the second, Wright retired the next 10 batters before Tim Federowicz hit a soft single to left in the fifth for the game's first hit. Wright (W, 2-1) would set down the final seven hitters he faced.
Bats' pitching kept pace with Wright over the first four frames. Jackson Stephens got the start for Louisville on a rehab assignment from Cincinnati and struck out three over 2.0 no-hit innings.
Jesús Reyes came in to start the third and was unscathed until the fifth. In that inning, Reyes walked Phil Gosselin and Alex Jackson with one out. After Wright sacrificed both runners over, Luis Marté hit a weak ground ball up the middle that shortstop Blake Trahan snared, but threw off target. All runners were safe, and Marte was credited with Gwinnett's first hit and RBI of the game. Danny Santana followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
The Stripers added three more runs in the sixth. Gosselin hit an RBI single off Tanner Rainey, and Jackson reached on a throwing error by pitcher Jimmy Herget that allowed two runs to score. Rio Ruiz hit an RBI double in the seventh for the final run.
Chase Whitley relieved Wright for his first Stripers appearance since May 23. He and Adam McCreery each threw perfect innings to complete the shutout.
The win was Gwinnett's second one-hit performance of the season, first since June 9 when then-Striper and current Bat Matt Wisler tossed 5.0 one-run frames in a rain-shortened 1-0 win vs. Syracuse.
Santana was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in the game. Dustin Peterson went 1-for-4 with a run to extend his team-best on-base streak to 28 games.
The Stripers (56-61) continue the series against Louisville (52-65) on Tuesday night. Right-hander Wes Parsons (6-2, 3.03 ERA) is scheduled for Gwinnett, fresh off his Major League debut with Atlanta on August 9. Righty Tyler Mahle (0-1, 4.50 ERA) will go for the Bats. Tony Schiavone will have the play-by-play call on 97.7 and 93.5 FM "The Other Side of the River" beginning at 6:35 p.m.
