Former University of North Carolina outfielder Brandon Riley will be making his return to his hometown of Burlington, North Carolina on July 14th as the Burlington Royals host the Johnson City Cardinals.

Riley, a graduate of Williams High School in Burlington, was selected in the 14th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft by St. Louis after playing three years with the Tar Heels.
During his time in Chapel Hill, Riley hit nearly .300 with 13 career home runs and 142 runs batted in. He was one of the key members of the 2018 North Carolina team that made it to the College World Series.
While at Williams, Riley was a four-time all-conference selection and was named to the all-state team as a senior.
"I think it's going to be special," said Riley. "You know, growing up and going to games in Burlington and watching guys play at that park and now actually being able to go back and play there as a professional, I think that's going to be special, to have my family there, have my friends there and play in front of them in the same stands I watched games in."
The series between Burlington and Johnson City will take place at Burlington Athletic Stadium from July 14 until July 16.
